Medical Plan
The medical plan helps you pay for covered medical care and protects you from the financial impact of catastrophic expenses.
Each year, you qualify for one of two plans (determined by your and your spouse's, if applicable, completion of the Wellness Assessment and Wellness points). Both plans work the same way, however, your out-of-pocket costs are lower with the Active healthcare plan.

Cost Per Pay
Paid for primarily by Honda; you will share in the cost of coverage for your eligible spouse or same gender domestic partner (SGDP) enrolled under primary coverage through Honda (if he or she has access to coverage through his or her employer)

Coverage Begins
First day of the month following your date of hire, if you are eligible for coverage
About this Benefit
The medical plan is administered by Aetna and includes a local network of screened healthcare providers, called the Aetna Choice POS II network.
  • You can receive care from in-network or out-of-network providers
  • Your share of the cost will generally be lower if you use network providers
Plan Features
  • Annual Health Fund. Honda contributes dollars to your Annual Health Fund (based on the plan you qualify for and your coverage category) to help offset your out-of-pocket health care costs
  • Annual Deductible. After you have used your full Health Fund amount, you must satisfy the annual deductible
  • Coinsurance. Once you have met the deductible, both you and Honda share the cost of your eligible medical expenses
  • Out-of-Pocket Maximum. When you reach the Out-of-Pocket Maximum, Honda pays 100% of any eligible medical expenses for the remainder of the calendar year

Last day of month your Honda employment ends or eligibility ends
